Nature, goats, dirt, and abundance

For a while now I’ve been saying how I wish I could go back in time and do more to be outside or work with animals in my profession. Being outside, exploring, hopping in the lake, listening to birds, watching fireflies, shooting stars, dirt!! All those things are so important to me. This nature thing has a huge impact on health and if I could go back in time I would cultivate that more. But with no time machine, I must go forward and use what I have and do what I know to feel that sense of professional fulfillment. Enter: Hux Family Farm.

You know that feeling when you realize that a seemingly insignificant choice becomes a huge turning point? Like the day you happened to meet your spouse….. the day you saw that stray dog that is now sleeping in your bed….. or the day you chose to say yes to something you thought was a little strange or uncomfortable but you tried it anyway. One day I happened to visit Hux Family Farm to do some goat yoga – outside, social distance applied, in the winter cold, with geese screaming at me, weird black ducks (that I know now are called muscovy), and lots of dirt. And that day is having a huge impact on my 2021.

Starting this Saturday 1/16 I will begin teaching goat yoga!!! It’s outside in nature, literally in hay and dirt, with the other animals making noise, and 33 snuggly goats. If you had told me I’d be doing this I would have said you were NUTS!! Not because of the nature piece, but because…..it’s goat yoga. And ya know, that’s funny!

But here we are and I’m grateful to my openness and flexibility around embracing new and different things – that’s been amplified throughout the pandemic. My creativity has expanded and this is one specific example. SO excited to get started!! Here’s the link if you’re interested in learning more.
