Even cute running pants

Even cute running pants and a 5 year old roller assistant can’t make me enjoy trying to run. I got the “best ever” running socks last week. Thought that would be it and make me think, where has this been all my life? Nope. They kept rolling down my heel and gave my toe a rub. Fifteen dollar socks should not do that. (one pair, $15) But, I took the bait & thought it would help. I was wrong. I don’t know what the secret is, but I know it’s not those socks.

Luckily I got my #iamvelocity Bike Therapy shirt before the weekend started. This pic was taken early Saturday morning at the gym….sing the song, Aaaaaall By Myseeeeeeeelf…..Just me! IMG_2285I think the older I get, the larger my Bullshit Detector seems to be and my tolerance for BS gets lower & lower & lower & lower. I think that’s probably why this tri stuff appeals to me so much. It can be done in groups or with others, but the bottom line is that it’s totally on me to make it happen. Given the amount of BS that seems to surround me lately, this tri training is literally the only thing that I have any real or genuine influence over. Phelps’ new slogan – what you do in the dark puts you in light – is so true! I can’t seem to get a handle on the running, but the truth is that I probably do it the least…so let’s be real here. Should I be getting any better at it? Probably not. And it’s all my fault because I’m not putting in the work and my BS detector is screaming at me!

In more positive achievements, I finally broke 2,000 miles on my bike odometer. Let’s not focus on how long it took me to get there. It’s been on my bike for many years, before Garmins & other fancy shmancy devices, but during that time I had some kids & hardly rode at all for several years. I’m excited that my first indoor tri at Lifetime Fitness is coming up in 2 weeks, and then the real season begins! I’m excited for what that will bring in lots of different ways.

My Velocity deliveries always make me happy. I love their stuff but I love the support from the group even more. It’s great to be in a group of like minded people who like to see people succeed and train for something, appreciating the work and time that goes into improving and/or completing an event whether it’s a big one or a small one. Gonna’ get a 3rd workout for the day tonight on the trainer so I can make it happen! The laundry will have to wait…
